A Message From Dr. Amy DeRosa D.O, FACOS, FACS

Plastic Surgery is about quality of life, your life. I understand that changing something about your appearance is an intensely personal decision that demands a true partnership between you and your surgeon. As your Surgeon I will work with you to enhance your body’s image and appearance. From Aesthetic Surgery of the Face, Breast or Body to the full spectrum of reconstructive issues that many patients face. I will be with you, as my patient every step of the way from the planning of your procedure to the completion of your post-operative care.

In today’s world, we are surrounded by new innovations in every aspect of our lives. Having completed a plastic surgery fellowship has given me the advantage of first hand experience and mastery of the newest ‘cutting-edge’ surgical techniques and technologies. I am excited and happy to share my experience with you.

Dr. Amy P. DeRosa is a Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon. She started her post-graduate education at Exempla St Joseph Medical Center in Denver, Colorado as a general surgery resident. She then went on to complete her training in southeast Michigan through the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for both her General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery programs. Dr. Amy P. DeRosa sees patients out of her office and surgical center in West Bloomfield, MI.

The designation of Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (FACOS) and the American College of Surgeons (FACS) is conferred upon American College of Osteopathic Surgeons (ACOS) / American College of Surgeons (ACS) members, honorary members, and life and retired members in recognition of their voluntary activities and service to advance osteopathic medicine and surgery.

The recipients of the FACOS / FACS designation have demonstrated their commitment to the practice of surgery, surgical teaching, authorship of professional papers, and participation in local, state, and national organizations. Recipients also have adhered to the professional and ethical standards established by the profession.

Educated and Trained Locally

Dr. DeRosa completed the plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship through Michigan State University at several of the most prestigious local hospitals in Michigan. She trained at Beaumont Hospital- Farmington Hills, Henry Ford, DMC (including Children’s Hospital), McLaren Oakland, St John Oakland, Oakland Regional (Michigan Hand Associates,) and Beaumont Hospital. Her training has included extensive experience in cosmetics, hand, breast cancer, microvascular, oculoplastics, craniofacial, OMFS, burn, facial trauma and reconstructive procedures.

Voted Who’s Who in Medicine

Dr. DeRosa was included in “Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare” during most of her post-graduate clinical training. She also received the Dorothy V Kraft Resident Award/Scholarship during her general surgery residency and was on the dean’s list at both the undergraduate and medical school levels.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. DeRosa consistently delivers exceptional results for every patient.  Dr. DeRosa is recognized as a national leader in research and education on Breast Implant Illness (BII) thus establishing her as the foremost choice for breast implant removal surgery in Michigan.  She regularly performs breast explant surgery on patients from all over North America.
