If you have lost weight, you may be considering an arm lift, or brachioplasty as it is also called. The results of weight loss leaves loose skin that cannot be exercised back into place. The arm lift procedure allows for correction of extra loose skin and fat of the upper arm areas.* Ultimately, you are left with a more youthful appearance and a tighter contoured upper arm. The incision may also be extended onto the upper chest to improve the folds of skin and fat in this region if necessary.
The incision associated with an arm lift has several locations, depending on your needs. It may be completely concealed within the armpit, or down the inside of the arm in an inconspicuous location for a variable length. In most cases, liposuction of the upper arm is performed in combination with excising the excess skin. If the skin tone is still adequate, liposuction alone can reduce upper arm size. During your consultation, Dr DeRosa would discuss the best option to help you chose the procedure to accomplish cosmetic goals.
